With a little under 24 hours until the Ironmen take to the field for the first time injury has seen a late reschuffle to Phil Carleton’s squad.
Would be debutant Huw Parks aggravated an injury training with Wales students and has failed to recover in time to make the trip North.
Park’s place in the squad has been taken by another youngster Macauley Harris who steps up from the Reserves.
Harris is one of 11 players in the squad due to make his First Team debut as Carleton gives an opportunity to a number of last years successful Development squad.
” A lot of our senior players haven’t been selected this weekend. However, we have a talented group of youngsters at the club who deserved a chance and we’ve no doubts they will give a good account of themselves.”
” They will be instructed to go out and enjoy the experience. They have been given an opportunity to put pressure on some of our more experienced players for a starting spot. Some will do that whilst others may need a little more time but the only way we’ll know for sure is by giving them some game time.”
” We’ll have some older more experienced players in the side to help the youngsters along. ”
“Mike has selected his strongest side who already have game time under their belts so it will be a big test but we’ll go up there and give it a go. ”
The return match the first ever Ironmen match at the Wern takes place a week later i.e. Sunday 5th February 2017 2:30pm ko.
