slide1With the two pre-season games against North Wales Crusaders behind them the Ironmen focus now switches to Sunday’s clash against St Helens. We caught up with Assistant Coach Paul Emanuelli who was in an upbeat mood ahead of the clash.

” We are all really looking forward to tomorrow’s game. We’ve got a few things we’d like to put right after last weeks disappointing result, but we didn’t need to pick the boys up. They’ve been bouncing at training all week.”

“Again we’ve mixed the team up and some guys who impressed in our first fixture get another opportunity to impress. ”

“It’s not every day you get to face a super league club so I’m sure the lads will keen to put a show on and enjoy the occasion.”

“As coaches it’s gives me and Phil one last chance to look at a few combinations and individuals before the serious stuff starts.
Lewis Reece and Roetsy picked up little knocks so we’ve decided not to risk them. Conor Farrer is away and Jamie I’Anson is being rested. ”

“It’ll be great to see Shaun Owens back in action and obviously we are both excited to be able to field our new signing Morgan Evans”

“St Helens will be a big test for us and hopefully we’ll give a good account of ourselves. It provides a great opportunity for people who perhaps haven’t seen a Rugby League game before to come down and have a look. Hopefully they’ll enjoy the spectacle and come back for more.”
